SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Proven experience in reliability and planning roles, preferably involving distributed energy assets such as EV chargers, solar systems, or BESS
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors effectively while driving a culture of safety and accountability
  • Skilled in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), with SAP experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities across electrical assets, with hands-on knowledge of maintenance and repair practices
  • Preferred trade qualifications (electrical/instrumentation with cross-discipline skills) and/or tertiary qualifications in engineering or related fields
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Reliability Specialist is a key member of the Asset Operations team, responsible for overseeing the ongoing reliability and performance of energy solutions assets across Australia, including electric vehicle charging stations, solar installations, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role ensures that maintenance contracts and third-party service providers are effectively managed to meet reliability targets, support safe operations, and deliver cost-effective maintenance outcomes. The role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with Ampol’s operational standards and statutory regulations, while driving the consistent performance of critical infrastructure across the network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor asset performance data to initiate preventative and reactive maintenance across EV chargers, solar systems, and BESS.
  • Manage third-party maintenance providers, including identification, assessment, onboarding, and ongoing performance oversight.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with Ampol’s safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support incident-free operations and drive improvements in asset reliability.
  • Oversee the execution of maintenance contracts to meet operational targets and optimise cost efficiency.
