Description General Purpose of the Position: This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for improving the reliability and efficiency of equipment and systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper maintenance, applying best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve immediate issues across multiple systems, while proactively identifying and implementing mechanical and electrical solutions to reduce chronic downtime. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in root cause failure analyses by reviewing maintenance history, conducting tests, and evaluating operating procedures to identify underlying causes of equipment failures. Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs and schedules in compliance with safety and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and maintenance, to improve equipment reliability, performance, and safety. Utilize diagnostic tools and analytical methods to troubleshoot issues and support effective problem resolution. Provide leadership to promote and maintain a safe work environment. Identify, promote, and standardize maintenance best practices across the facility. Partner with Engineering on short- and long-term reliability challenges requiring engineered solutions. Work directly with mechanical and electrical/instrumentation personnel to diagnose and repair equipment issues. Identify repetitive failures and develop engineered solutions to eliminate chronic downtime. Establish priorities and serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting reliability issues. Apply emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in equipment and process reliability. Assist with documenting and analyzing root causes of equipment failures. Maintain the physical ability to walk extensively, climb ladders and stairs, and work in varying temperature conditions. Provide extended coverage during equipment outages, holidays, and weekends as scheduled. All other tasks or duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Experience and Skill Requirements: Industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in manufacturing, including at least five (5) years in a supervisory and/or maintenance role. Working knowledge of Emerson AMS Machinery Manager software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word); SAP experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects and competing priorities. Strong organizational, analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including executive leadership. Proven leadership and decision-making abilities, with initiative and the capacity to delegate responsibilities effectively. Advanced understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical circuits and control systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and management. Knowledge of ISO and BRC procedures, as well as applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Willingness to work a flexible schedule as business needs require. Physical Requirements: Apply up to 35 lbs. of force occasionally. Move and lift objects up to 10 lbs. with constant force vertically and/or horizontally. Use 20 lbs. of force frequently. Ability to stand with often movement to reach, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, and twist. Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory. Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery. Mandatory use of PPE. Work is performed in a manufacturing facility and office environment. These include areas near operating equipment and chemical usage; in accordance with our safety program, all employees receive informative training on chemicals and equipment used within the plant. Education Requirements: Associate’s degree in engineering technology, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
