KITCHEN ASSISTANT / BREAKFAST SERVICE

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Kitchen Assistant to work alongside our Chef’s and join our friendly team here at Bloomfield Care Home.
Hours
The hours are 20 hours per week 8 am to 6 pm across various days of the week including the weekends. The rate of pay will be £12.41 per hour when doing the role of the kitchen assistant, however when doing the role of the relief chef the hourly rate will increase to £14 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for making and serving breakfast to residents.
Assisting the Chef with tasks designated to them.
Ensuring that any necessary preparation is made for the next day.
The Team are responsible for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen, by washing up through the day and cleaning the kitchen floor, and wiping the working areas as required.
You will be responsible for promoting a clean and hygienic kitchen following all company and legal food safety requirements.
You will be responsible for the accurate use and storage of stock, stock control, and will be involved in stock takes daily and monthly as well as stock rotation of goods to reduce wastage.
You will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen with the day to day running, preparing food dishes and keeping the areas clean and ready for service throughout the kitchen.
The candidate will be expected to fund their Criminal Record check initially however this will be refunded after a successful probation.
We will also require two references.
