Plan routes to meet delivery schedules and customer time windows, communicating with the transport office regarding delays, traffic or site restrictions. Provide excellent customer service on site and at point of delivery; liaise professionally with customers to ensure safe unloading and placement of goods. Assist with loading at branch where required, including manual handling tasks and use of lifting aids, to support efficient turnaround of vehicles. Complete delivery paperwork and electronic proof of delivery accurately and promptly, reporting any shortages, damage or customer queries to the Transport Supervisor. Adhere to company health and safety policies, use appropriate PPE, follow site-specific instructions and report incidents or near misses immediately. Work flexibly to provide cover across the New Malden branch and neighbouring branches as required, supporting peak periods and ad-hoc transport requirements. Person Specification Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with HIAB (crane) endorsement and CPC completed. Proven experience as an HGV driver operating Class 2 vehicles with HIAB/crane experience is essential. Good knowledge of vehicle and HIAB checks, safe use of lifting equipment and manual handling best practice.
