Job Details Job Location: Madison, WI 53704 Salary Range: $17.00 Hourly $17/hour - great entry level job for students and other interested in pursuing a career in human services, social work, SUD counseling, and or mental health counseling. Get valuable experience in the field! SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise any assigned students and/or volunteers under the direction of the Program Manager. Supervise residents in their daily and weekly house jobs. Model of job duties for new part-time staff who may train an overnight shift. TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct hourly quality assurance checks on all residents and record findings. Maintain communication with other staff through log notes and individual consultation for the purpose of coordination of services in a treatment approach. Support other staff with residents when necessary. Attend relief staff meetings with Program Manager as requested. Report to Program Manager any items that need to be repaired in the facility. Provide crossover for incoming staff member. GROUP LIVING RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for the care and supervision of residents while on assigned shifts. Be responsible for crisis intervention whenever necessary. Contact On-Call Staff as needed. Be responsible for insuring the physical safety of residents when on assigned shifts. Enforce program rules and provide consequences as needed. Perform and document checks on each resident at least hourly overnight. Under the direction of the Program Manager supervise residents in daily and weekly house jobs. Be responsible for observing clients take medication, logging medication, and verifying medication counts. Provide first aid and seek emergency medical care as needed. Provide bus tokens or arrange resident transportation as needed. Under the direction of the Program Manager, Social Worker, SUD Counselor, or Case Manager, provide orientation to new residents in: Role of Part-time Overnight/Weekend Counselors. Under the direction of the Program Manager, Social Worker, SUD Counselor or Case Manager provide a support to new residents in the area of House Rules, First Week Forms, House Jobs, Emergency fire and disaster plans, visitation policies, etc. as needed. If infants reside in the facility, follow the guidelines of the Baby Care Manual. If infants reside in the facility, assist mothers in infant care as requested by the Program Manager. GENERAL PROGRAM: Work scheduled shifts as assigned by the Program Manager. If sick or unable to cover shift, make every attempt to have your shift covered. Complete necessary forms as they apply to personnel and policy procedures and program needs. Assist the SUD Counselor with the monitoring of residents for use of alcohol or drugs and doing urinalysis and breathalyzers screens on a regular basis. Record these results and contact the On-Call Staff with any questions. Be responsible for building security while on scheduled shifts by: shutting and locking windows and doors, turn alarms and flood lights on, maintaining atmosphere of calm and order during crisis situations, calling police and/or fire department when crisis situations warrant. Orientate visitors and/or volunteers to Program rules, policies and procedures. While on scheduled shifts act as an agency representative to neighbors, volunteers, police, etc. Qualifications Possession of an associate’s degree in human services field helpful but not necessary. Have the ability to supervise residents in daily living management and provide house security in an alternative correctional facility. Training in CBRF required courses, a plus, but not necessary.
