Job Details Job Location: FLA-Venice Thrift - Venice, FL 34285 Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or More Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Salary Range: $16.29 Hourly Job Category: Store Schedule/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10am to 6pm, (29 hours per week) This position is responsible for: Assists customers purchasing items from The Salvation Army by ringing-up sales utilizing a cash register; collects monies, counts change and prepares receipts; prepares and packages purchased items; prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register print-outs. Cleans and organizes on sales floor to ensure a great shopping experience and delivers great customer service. Key Responsibilities: Operate cash register to complete sales transactions; handle cash, credit, and vouchers accurately; balance drawer and prepare deposits in accordance with established procedures. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with purchases, answering questions about pricing or policies, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Sort, price, and tag merchandise in accordance with pricing guidelines and store procedures. Stock and maintain sales floor—arrange, rotate, and replenish merchandise; ensure displays are clean, organized, and inviting. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store and sorting areas, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing storage spaces Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to operate a cash register. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Physical ability to lift and cany and/or push/pull light objects (less than 50 lbs.). Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
