Description

Every person deserves the chance to live with dignity, independence and support. At CrossReach, our mental health services are here to help people do just that, and as a Relief Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in making it happen.
Relief work means stepping in when needed, bringing compassion, flexibility and energy to the team. You’ll be there to support residents and clients with daily living, encourage them to explore hobbies and community life, and provide the care and reassurance they need to thrive. No two shifts will be the same, but every one will make a difference.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable and eager to make a difference. Experience in social care is helpful but not essential. If you have the right values, we’ll provide training to build your skills. You’ll bring patience, respect and the ability to build trusting relationships, along with basic IT skills. To take on this role, you’ll also need to register with the SSSC and be a member of the PVG Scheme.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide day-to-day care and support in residential and day care settings
  • Assist with personal care, health and wellbeing needs
  • Encourage independence and support people to pursue their own interests
  • Contribute to care plans and work as a key worker where required
  • Support residents to take part in community activities and build social connections
  • Work flexibly across day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Relief work offers flexibility that can fit around your life, while giving you the opportunity to gain experience and grow your career in mental health care. Most importantly, it means being there when people need support the most.
