Description Lion Country Safari is seeking a Relief Veterinarian that will provide assistance to the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technician(s) in providing health care to the entire animal collection. This assistance includes record keeping, lab work, maintaining equipment, preparing medications, and cleaning as required. The Relief Veterinarian may also perform surgical procedures as well as animal capture as per written protocol. Requirements Must be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, certified and licensed to practice in the State of Florida, or have the ability to be certified within one year. Prefer two years paid experience in exotic animal medicine. Computer experience with software used in the zoological profession is considered an asset, as well as general office productivity systems, word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail. Must be a mature, open minded individual, who is capable of working in a team situation, chairing meetings, and dealing comfortably with the media and representatives of government agencies. Must exhibit skills in letter and report writing.
