Read more about IOM's workplace culture at IOM workplace culture | International Organization for Migration [https://www.iom.int/iom-workplace-culture]  Project Context and Scope IOM Nigeria with support from the Government of Netherlands IOM Nigeria, under Cooperation for Migration Partnerships on Sustainable Solutions (COMPASS) 2.0 and the Support to Migration Governance programme funded by the European Union, supports whole-of-government/whole-of-society approaches to strengthen migration governance, protection and sustainable reintegration. These projects seek to strengthen the existing   efforts of religious and traditional leaders at the local level by involving them on the design and implementation of behaver change initiatives including referral of victims to appropriate service delivery actors. Building on IOM’s established engagement with religious and traditional leaders in Lagos, Edo and Delta, and on a drafted Road Map for faith/traditional engagement, this consultancy will consolidate and strengthen prior gains and scales structured engagement to Kano, embedding governance, behavior change, and referral outcomes into existing state coordination mechanisms.   Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing   Migration Management Department through Protection unit under the overall supervision of the Program Manager, Protection Officer. The consultancy will be coordinated and supervised by Project Assistant - AWR.
Responsibilities
The consultant will strengthen and scale engagement with religious and traditional leaders to prevent human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. They will also embed behavior change initiatives and victim referral outcomes into state coordination mechanisms in Nigeria.
