Description

ABOUT US:

The Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia (PCEA) is a small, Bible-believing congregation located in the quiet rural town of Ulverstone, Tasmania. As a church grounded in the historic Reformed faith, we hold firmly to the authority of Scripture, the truth of the Gospel, and the confessional standards of our Presbyterian heritage. We are a theologically conservative body that values reverent worship, expositional preaching, and a strong, shepherding pastor who will assist with conviction and humility. Our community may be small, but we are committed to honouring Christ in all we do and holding fast to the truth in a changing world.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who shares our commitment to conservative, biblical doctrine and who feels called to minister in a regional setting. The pastor will assist in providing faithful preaching, pastoral care, leadership, and oversight in accordance with Scripture and our denominational standards. He must be a man of Godly character, firm conviction, and possess a shepherd’s heart.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ordained (or seeking ordination) in a denomination with mutual eligibility with the PCEA or another conservative Reformed/Presbyterian denomination (e.g., Free Church of Scotland, FCC, RPCNA, RCNZ, OPC, EPC)
  • Committed to the authority of Scripture and the Westminster Standards, and willing to subscribe to the formula approved in 1952: Act anent Questions and Formula [Class 1, April 2, 1952] found at https://pcea.org.au/resources/pcea-synod/541-pcea-handbook2024/file
  • Strong expositional preacher with a heart for pastoral care
  • Seminary training (MDiv or equivalent) required or nearing completion
