Religious Education Coordinator – $17.00 p/h commensurate with experience – Aviano AFB, Italy

THE PERSON

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree in education or a related field OR has five years’ experience in a leadership role within an educational setting.
  • Has experience managing an education program for 60+ students.
  • Is confident working with volunteers, parents, and community leaders.
  • Has strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.
  • Can work independently and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Can pass a criminal background check (conducted at government expense).
  • Is willing to commit to at least one year at Aviano Air Base.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position for up to 30 hours per week over a 5-year contract term.

Position contingent upon contract award.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead a structured Religious Education (RE) program.
  • Ensure the program aligns with established guidelines and best practices.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Plan and organize special events, including seasonal celebrations and retreats.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, resource management, and record-keeping.
  • Oversee weekly education sessions for a range of age groups.
  • Ensure compliance with background checks and training requirements.
  • Manage the selection and approval of educational materials.
  • Regularly communicate with volunteers, parents, and program participants.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, curriculum, and program evaluations.
  • Secure appropriate classrooms and administrative support for RE activities.
