Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

ATG Group are an environmental remediation and spill response services provider based in Northern Ireland. Our head office is based in Coleraine, but we also have an operations office in Lurgan and a waste treatment hub in Ballymena.
We have an exciting opportunity in our site operations team for a Remediation Operative Mentorship, and the best it about it is, you don’t need any experience! We are looking for people to join our site-based teams who primarily work on oil spill projects through NI/ROI.

In this role as a Remediation Operative, you will be provided with all of the tools and equipment to do your job, including attending and obtaining a CSR card if necessary. You will be mentored by an experienced Site Supervisor/Manager. In the beginning, you will learn the basics of excavation, treatment and reinstatement, including activities like:

  • Preservation of customer property
  • Digging and guiding excavator operators
  • Foundation work, including block-changing
  • Mixing common materials like cement/adhesives
  • How to use hydrocarbon treatments
  • Using hand and power tools, like demolition breakers/rotary hammers

You will have a clear progression plan upon joining, and milestones may include excavator/dumper training, NVQs in Site Supervision, or achieving a CSR Building Site Supervisor Card. Our experienced operatives are also experienced in trades, including joinery, building and finishing. You will have the opportunity to shadow these more experienced workers, whilst being able to earn more than you potentially could in a formal apprenticeship.

DETAILS & BENEFITS

  • Starting rate will be £13 per hour (Band 1), with the opportunity for progression into the subsequent bands, and annual rate reviews
  • 30 days annual leave, which includes bank holidays
  • 40-45 hours per week, over 5 days, Monday to Friday
  • Starting between 7:00-7:30am, until 4-5pm
  • You are paid from the moment you leave your house, until the moment you leave the site, with additional journey time should it take you more than an hour to get home
  • If the site is over 2 hours away, we will cover your accommodation there, and you will receive a 1.5x uplift in your hourly rate
  • Option to join the company’s BHSF Health Cash Plan
  • Mileage allowance will be paid at 35p per mile
This is a great opportunity for those perhaps looking for a change in career, or someone who is looking to get back into the workplace.

REQUIREMENTS

We are aiming to have completed the selection process by the end of August 2025, with start dates being early September 2025. There will be a probationary period of three months, after which you’ll complete a review and if you pass, you’ll receive a permanent position.
