WHAT’S THE ROLE?

Tell us your preferred schedule, and we’ll work with you to make it happen! Whether it’s a 4-on-2-off, 6-on-2-off, or something that suits your unique needs, we’re here to accommodate.
Seeking dedicated and passionate General Practitioners for a dynamic role available in the Community of Gunbalanya. This is an opportunity to be at the heart of developing a new service where your skills can make a significant impact in quality service provision and better outcomes for Indigenous people. This is more than a job, it’s a chance to be part of a community’s health revolution. This position champions community control and local involvement in the delivery of PHC services.
The GP role in a remote ACCHO is challenging but rewarding, with the opportunity to:
Work within a dedicated team to advance the health outcomes of the Aboriginal community in the West Arnhem region.
Share in the development of a permanent GP service, based on the unique needs of the residents of the community.

IS THIS THE RIGHT ROLE FOR YOU?

  • Holds specialist General Practitioner registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
  • Is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Has a broad-based primary care experience in a rural/remote setting, ideally in Indigenous health.
  • Is culturally aware with knowledge of current issues impacting remote Indigenous communities.
  • Accreditation or experience as a GP supervisor is advantageous.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss your individual career aspirations and work life needs. Flexible Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) options considered, ask us how.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer support and financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
