We are currently hiring a Camp Cook with 3+ years experience working in remote camp setting.
The Cook will be responsible for ensuring hot breakfast, soup/sandwich lunches, and full dinners are prepared for up to 40 camp occupants daily. They will also be expected to provide guidance and direction to the Kitchen Helpers/Assistants.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years cooking in a remote cooking position (cooking for 40+ persons)
  • Prior baking experience (pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, dainties)
  • Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • Good time management skills
  • Consistency in quality of meal creation
  • Travel paid from Winnipeg to camp.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for submitting orders for any food or supply items necessary for running the kitchen
  • Responsible for providing baked goods such as fresh bread, rolls, biscuits in addition to desserts and pastries
  • Respond to the dietary concerns of the client
  • Prepares the necessary food items as directed and in accordance with standards and in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service
  • Plan menu up to 14 days (or specified days) in advance and estimates food portions/rations for site locations
  • Maintain/complete a food supply inventory
  • Work twelve (12) hour shifts or as outlined in employee agreement (7 days/week, 2 weeks on, 3 weeks off)
  • Keep work station clean and organized including fridge, freezers, countertops, grills, etc.
  • Follow and comply with company protocols, processes, SOP and Kitchen Manual
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
