Summary
Altus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Owner to join our dynamic team focused on optimizing our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) system & processes. This role will be instrumental in bridging the gap between operations and development, working closely with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness within our Imagine billing system. The Product Owner will contribute to the product vision, manage the product backlog, and ensure alignment between development efforts and operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operational teams, including billing, coding, patient access, and finance, to understand their workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvement within the Imagine billing system.
- Operational support related to RCM system functionality, processes, charge posting, claim processing, payment posting, and other RCM-related obstacles.
- Maintaining precise and current documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and frequently asked questions.
- Monitor and maintain RCM configurations related to multi-platform parameters, interface tasks, translation tables, automation tasks, and backend rules.
- Identifying areas for process improvement and end-to-end business process efficiency gains, and communicating these findings with business partners.
- Assisting in the creation of training materials, product documentation, and release notes for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support for the initial setup and continuous maintenance of client system configurations, as well as the related provider profiles.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of product documentation, such as user guides and training materials.
- Transforming business needs and user stories into clear, concise, and well-documented product backlog items, including epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with operational teams, including billing, reimbursement, accounts receivable, client services, and finance, to gain a thorough understanding of their workflows, challenges, and potential areas for enhancement.
- Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, operational impact, and technical feasibility, in alignment with the overall product roadmap.
- Act as a liaison between operational stakeholders and the development team, ensuring effective communication and understanding of requirements.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to RCM processes to identify areas for optimization and potential product enhancements.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes related to RCM and the Imagine billing system.
- Stay informed on trends in infusion therapy, health IT, and value-based care to help guide product direction.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the delivered functionality meets the needs of the operational teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a relevant field such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3 or more years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with exposure to Revenue Cycle Management processes.
- 3 or more years of experience using billing systems, preferably Imagine billing system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the pre-treatment healthcare business cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, and scheduling.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience using Jira or similar agile project management tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to data analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
