I’m seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Remote Legal Assistant in either California or DC to support my solo law practice. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, organizational finesse, and a high level of professionalism. You’ll be the first point of contact for many clients, helping ensure a smooth intake process and supporting ongoing administrative needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a U.S. law firm or legal support role
  • Must provide references from U.S. law firms
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Comfortable with client-facing interactions and sensitive legal matters
  • Reliable internet connection and quiet confidental workspace for calls

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a strong plus
  • Experience with legal intake platforms (e.g., Jotform, MyCase, Clio)
  • Familiarity with retainer agreements, family law processes, or procedural documentation
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with automation tools like Zapier or Calendly
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct outbound calls and respond to client inquiries with empathy and professionalism
  • Manage client intake, send retainer agreements, and follow up on documentation
  • Organize and maintain digital files, emails, and case-related documents
  • Streamline email communications and ensure timely responses
  • Assist with invoicing, billing reconciliation, and basic bookkeeping tasks
  • Schedule consultations, track deadlines, and manage calendars
  • Provide administrative support including drafting forms, formatting documents, and data entry
  • Collaborate on workflow improvements and help maintain operational efficiency
  • Duties might be added as needed
