Key Autism Services (KAS) is looking for an experienced remote payroll expert to fill a new role within a growing and highly successful, multi-state, autism services provider. REQUIRED & ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Minimum five-years of experience managing payroll in a multi-site, multi-state business environment. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state payroll tax and reporting matters as well as knowledge and interaction with internal accounting needs.
  • Experience with modern, cloud-based accounting software, in-depth use of payroll processing vendors (Paychex, Paycom, ADP, etc.) third-party integrations, and utilization of data from local and cloud-based data sources.
  • High-functioning user of MS-Office suite, particularly Excel. PowerBI and accounting system experience a plus.
  • Ability to work and be managed in a fully-remote environment utilizing remote collaboration tools. May be required to travel for occasional overnight team meetings.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or similar field role. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day payroll production activities, including:
  • Ensure accurate calculation and transfer of bi-weekly salary/hourly/contractor time and pay data to payroll provider
  • Ensure accurate calculation and application of withholdings, garnishments, bonuses, leave and reimbursements
  • Ensure correct state and federal reporting requirements are fulfilled, including support of audit activities
  • Manage pay-period payroll data reporting to processing vendor as well as calculation of cash-flow needs
  • Manage direct deposit processing and documentation
  • Proactively report and initiate off-cycle and manual payroll requests and changes
  • Daily management of payroll support inquiries from employees
  • Partner with other KAS teams in creating and disseminating resources to employees and new hires to proactively answer payroll related questions
  • Ensure accurate processing of year-end reporting (W-2, etc.) as well as ad hoc, bonuses, and raises
  • Ensure correct state and federal reporting requirements are fulfilled, including support of audit activities
  • Support General Ledger posting, reporting, and analysis as it relates to payroll
  • Support development and maintenance of company personnel model
  • Support optimization of accounting and data reporting tools
  • Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organization to fulfill payroll-related needs
  • Provide support to staff and vendors as well as clients related to payroll matters
  • Support other payroll-related activities, like small purchase charge card program and expense reimbursement processes.
