This role involves transforming educational materials into fully accessible, fillable PDF documents for students, including those who are blind or visually impaired. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accessibility standards and experience creating tagged PDFs with correct reading order, alt text, and interactive form fields.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in PDF remediation and accessibility.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and other PDF editing tools.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies such as screen readers and braille displays.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508, PDF/UA).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with educational materials or in an academic setting.
• Knowledge of document accessibility in other formats (e.g., Word, EPUB).
• Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, ADS).

• Remediate educational content into accessible PDF files that comply with WCAG 2.1 and PDF/UA standards.
• Create fillable form fields that are fully navigable and usable with screen readers and refreshable braille displays.
• Ensure proper tagging structure, logical reading order, and accurate alt text for all visual elements.
• Collaborate with educators, instructional designers, and accessibility specialists to understand content and user needs.
• Perform quality assurance checks using screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA) and accessibility checkers (e.g., PAC, Adobe Acrobat).
