Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for accuracy and a proven track record of managing client relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact, and ensuring their financial records are impeccably maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including processing sales invoices, receipts, AR/AP payments, and payroll.
  • Manage relationships with a dedicated portfolio of clients, serving as their main contact for questions and issue resolution.
  • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review key financial statements, including Profit and Loss, AP, and AR reports.
  • Meticulously maintain all financial records and documentation according to company standards.
  • Prepare and process HST/GST filings and remittances.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-10 years of proven experience in a bookkeeping role.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is mandatory.
  • Client Management: Demonstrable experience in managing client relationships, including strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are absolutely essential for this role.
  • Education: College diploma in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Remote Work: Experience and discipline to thrive while working independently in an agile, remote environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and password management software like 1Password.

Bonus Points (Preferred Skills)

  • Experience with other accounting software such as Sage, Quickbooks Desktop, Spire, or Xero.
  • Proficiency with receipt management software like Dext Prepare or Hubdoc.
  • Previous experience with CRA/non-profit audits.

Work Schedule & Details

  • Hours: 30-40 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
  • Language: English.
