Description

We empower innovative design and manufacturing companies with cutting-edge software and expert technical services. As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NX Aerospace Application Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This critical role will focus on providing advanced, high-level support and solutions to our aerospace customers, addressing complex CAD/CAM design challenges and optimizing their processes. You’ll be instrumental in helping our clients leverage the full power of NX in their demanding aerospace environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience as an NX Application Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on the aerospace industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting customers with complex CAD/CAM design and process challenges in aerospace environments.
  • Extensive experience with advanced NX functionalities, particularly those applicable to aerospace design, analysis, and manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep expertise in NX CAD/CAM, including advanced surfacing, large assembly management, and manufacturing applications.
  • Strong understanding of Teamcenter in a managed NX environment.
  • Proficiency in developing custom NX applications and configurations (NXcustom, NX Application Launcher, Attribute Mapping, NX Checkmate, Reuse Library).
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace processes such as AS9100 and Model-Based Definition (MBD), NX Join, and NX Aero Design Tools.
  • Knowledge of aerospace polymer applications (airframe and engine sealing, interior components) is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication:
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a highly analytical approach to complex technical issues.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of users, from engineers to senior management, and instruct/mentor them.
  • Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Industry Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of aerospace design and manufacturing workflows, challenges, and requirements.
  • Familiarity with the rigorous demands of aerospace environments and critical applications.
  • Strong experience in airframe structures design, including primary structural elements (ribs, stringers, spars, frames, skins, longerons, keel beams, etc). Metallic design experience, including sheet metal, machinings, forgings and/or castings is required. Composite carbon-fiber experience is a benefit.
  • Systems integration, routing, space-claim, system segregation, and working knowledge of kinematics is a benefit.
  • Interior component design is a benefit.
  • Cross-functional knowledge (i.e. airframe structures as well as knowledge of avionics, air systems, hydraulic systems, propulsion, fuel systems, aerodynamics etc.) is a benefit.
  • Certification expertise (Part 23, Part 25, Part 33, Part 91) is strongly desired.
  • Rig and sub-component level testing experience is a benefit.
  • Alternative CAD system knowledge (i.e. CATIA) is a strong benefit, especially where alternative methodologies or benefits with NX can be demonstrated.
  • Deep understanding of best practices, through practical experience and lessons learned, with regards to NX modeling techniques is essential.
  • Aptitude:
  • We are seeking a self-starting individual that is passionate about the aerospace industry and the application of advanced level technologies to help industry innovators accelerate and leverage their digital toolset investment to the maximum of its capabilities.
  • The individual will possess a strong aptitude for learning, not just about the industry and applicable technologies, but about technology in general.
  • The individual will be highly composed in front of customers, able to craft compelling material and deliver it to working level engineers and executives alike.
  • We are looking for someone that has a highly positive, outgoing, and “can-do” attitude, with the ability to dig deep and resolve problems through their own initiative.
  • We are building a world-class team, and have high expectations. Someone that thrives in areas of ambiguity, that can bring deep knowledge and passion to the role, and that upskills themselves and those around them will be successful in this role. You should be prepared to go the extra mile, deliver extreme value, and exude confidence, knowledge, emotional intelligence and approachability.
