Description Job Summary: Provides support and assistance to the Cedar Memorial Licensed Funeral Directors in bringing deceased individuals into the care of the Funeral Home and Iowa Cremation. Duties/Responsibilities: Responds to calls as needed on scheduled days, traveling to the place of death (home, hospital, care facility, or other locations) to bring deceased individuals into the care of Cedar Memorial or Iowa Cremation. Safely transports the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home or other designated locations. Ensures all removals are conducted with dignity, compassion, and professionalism. Travels to the location of death, which may involve long distances and varying weather conditions. Thoroughly complete pertinent paperwork. Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean and properly maintained. Maintains an adequate supply of PPE in removal vehicles. Delivers exceptional customer service to families, medical staff, and colleagues. Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures. Including annual OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens training. Maintains a clean driving record that is in compliance with Cedar Memorial's insurance requirements. Performs additional duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Keen social awareness and integrity. Excellent understanding of customer service. Excellent skills working with a team. Must live within 30 minutes of Funeral Home. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license. Certified Removal Technician in the state of Iowa Physical Requirements: Lifting upwards of 150 pounds of force regularly with the assistance of a team lift. Driving Stooping Reaching Walking Bending Keyboarding Hearing Standing Talking Repetitive Motions Working in seasonal weather conditions
