Reports To: Operations Manager
Salary: £35,000
Contract Type: 07:00 – 16:00 44.5 hours on average per week (Working every other Saturday)

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in removals, manual handling, or handyman work (preferred but not essential)
  • Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
  • Basic DIY or handyman skills (using tools, drills, fixings, etc.)
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with great attention to detail
  • Professional and polite communication with customers
  • Flexibility to work early starts, occasional weekends, and overtime
  • Valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on and customer-focused Removals Porter & Handyman to join our team. This dual-role position is key to delivering a high-quality moving experience to our clients, combining the physical demands of removals with practical maintenance and handyman tasks. You’ll represent our company in clients’ homes and businesses, ensuring professionalism, care and attention to detail at every step.

REMOVALS DUTIES:

  • Assist with the safe loading, unloading and transportation of furniture and personal belongings
  • Wrap, pack and protect items to prevent damage during transit
  • Navigate staircases, tight spaces and protect client property (walls, floors, doorways)
  • Set up furniture at the new location as instructed
  • Carry out pre-move and post-move checks to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work as part of a removals team, taking instruction from the team leader or driver

HANDYMAN DUTIES:

  • Disassemble and reassemble furniture (beds, wardrobes, tables, etc.)
  • Drill and fix basic wall fittings (curtain poles, TV brackets, picture hooks, etc.)
  • Conduct light repairs or adjustments as needed (tightening loose fittings, patching minor scuffs)
  • Support warehouse and facility maintenance tasks when required
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and responsibly
