REGISTERED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (REMT) JOB TITLE: Registered Emergency Medical Technician (REMT) DEPARTMENT: EmServ FULL TIME/PRN: Full Time JOB SUMMARY Provides EMT-level emergency and non-emergency medical care across all age groups in the pre-hospital environment; supports paramedics and ensures safe patient transport. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Current NREMT EMT certification; MSDH EMT preferred. • Current MSDL; MSDH EMS Driver preferred. • CPR certification; FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800 preferred. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Positive team attitude; prior EMS experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide EMT-level care to patients. • Maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and EMS staff. • Prioritize daily work to maximize productivity. • Provide guidance to EMS drivers and students. • Complete accurate documentation for all calls. • Ensure equipment readiness and safe operation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Walk and work on varied terrain and in confined spaces. • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull 75–100 lbs with or without assistance. • Repeated transfers of patients and heavy equipment. • Maintain stamina for prolonged standing, kneeling, twisting, and awkward postures. • Fine-motor control for emergency/transport equipment; adequate vision and hearing.
