SUMMARY: The Rendering Operator is responsible for collecting production plant waste materials (animal carcass remains and non-consumables) for byproduct recycling. This process prepares the byproducts for conversion into usable goods such as bone meal and alternative fuel. This position is not directly part of the harvest or cut process and does not require use of knives. You do have to be able to work in hot/cold weather environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. * Ability to work in an environment with a pungent odor (waste material/carcass remains) * Ability to work in an environment with a temperature range of 100 degrees to -20 degrees. * Prefer to have some Rendering Experience but will train the right candidate. * Physical Requirements: * Frequent lift/carry minimum of 50 lbs. * Frequently stand, walk, and move about the facility. * Ability to climb and descend from ladders and stairs. * Ability crouch, bend, and reach with hands and arms. * Ability to use shovel and/or scoop. * Must be able to wear all safety equipment / PPE. * Communication, Language, and Safety Compliance: * Must be able to successfully complete STF's training and become certified in: * LOTO, PIT, Fall Protection. * Must be able to read and write in English. * Must be able to communicate in English. NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by Rendering team and at the discretion of management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. You will work 4 days and have 3 days off; your shift will rotate every 4 months. HOURS OF WORK: 5:00pm - 5:30am you will work 4 - 12-hour days and have 3 days off. The typical week would entail 40 to 60 hours (maximum), with fluctuations based on need of the Rendering team.   NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. You will work 4 - 12 hour days and have 3 days off. Hours will be 5:00am - 5:30pm.
