Rendering Refiner Assistant

You will assist in the following responsibilities:

• Work in a physically demanding position, requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Checking all documentation according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
• Unloading/offloading lard/tallow fat from tankers/railcars into the correct tank by operating hoses and pumps, replacing hoses.
• Operating bleacher, deodorizer and votator packaging and cryovac.
• Adding additives per customer and CFIA.
• Regularly changing filter bags.
• Adhere to all Quality Assurance SOP’s ,GMPs, HACCP and record data manually and electronically on the computer.
• Reporting all production problems during the shift to the Production Supervisor.
• When a Rendering Assistant or Stationary Engineer is not on duty, the refiner operates the Wastewater treatment plant and monitors the operation of boilers.

Requirements:

• Ability to work long hours, bending, climb ladders and work at heights.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to speak, read and write English, and to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and part of a team with minimum supervision.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Understanding of cause and effect.
• Ability to operate a forklift is an asset.

Pay: From $21.80 per hour
