This is a temp-to-perm opportunity: for the first 12 weeks you will be on a temporary contract, paid at £23 per hour CIS. Following successful completion of this period, you will move into a permanent position with a salary of £37,852 per year plus a £5,000 on-call allowance. Additional benefits include a company vehicle and ongoing professional development.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship and/or full electrical qualifications (Essential)
  • AM2 qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (I.EE)
  • 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
  • ECS Gold Card (Essential)
  • MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
  • Solar PV qualification (e.g. C&G 2399, LCL Awards Level 3, or BPEC Solar PV Installer Course - desirable)
  • Experience in renewables/solar PV preferred (training available)
  • G98/G99 understanding & PAS 2030 familiarity (desirable for retrofit/funded work)
  • Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
  • Own a full set of tools
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

You will work on renewable energy and social housing projects, including:

  • Installing, testing, and commissioning domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Working with DC/AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding
  • Using remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps
  • Following H&S protocols, risk assessments, and RAMS
  • Ensuring compliance with UK building regs & DNO requirements
  • Reporting unsafe appliances, equipment, or installations
  • Operating tools and machinery safely
  • Carrying out all aspects of electrical works
  • Regional travel (nationally if required)
  • Flexibility for overtime or weekend work

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair and replace electrical fittings
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults
  • Complete and report works using PDA systems
  • Work in line with Health & Safety, Customer Service, and Performance policies
  • Report accidents, near misses, and potential hazards
  • Deliver excellent customer service, adapting to varied needs and schedules
  • Maintain company tools and vehicle
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Manage your own time and workload effectively
