Ingka Investments drives a more sustainable future by investing in renewable energy, forest land, circular solutions, business development, and financial markets. As the investment arm of Ingka Group, we also manage the Group’s long-term financial assets and savings.
With climate action entering a critical decade, we’re accelerating our investments in renewable energy. We aim to increase clean energy production by providing capital and operational expertise, focusing on countries where IKEA operates and sources from. Since two-thirds of Ingka Group’s carbon footprint comes from suppliers, our investments target emissions across the value chain.
Today, we sell power from two gigawatt of wind, solar, and storage assets across seventeen countries. Most power is sold directly on electricity markets or to utilities, with the Guarantees of Origin often delivered to IKEA’s value chain. We’ve recently entered the Ancillary Services markets and led by our Supply team begun direct sales to IKEA suppliers. Soon we will start operation of another gigawatt of new generation capacity.
Did this get you excited? Do you want to contribute to the growth of Ingka Investments? Do you want to help secure its sustained profitability by focusing on the execution of the power sales strategy?
If the answer is yes, continue reading, you might just be the person we are looking for!
As the Renewable Energy Originator, you will not only have proven knowledge of the renewable energy industry, but you will some years’ experience of the contracts and processes needed to supply renewable electricity to wholesale markets from energy storage, wind, and solar farms in one or more European countries. This includes the steps from certification to inject power to the grid, contracting and right through to delivery and settlement. Specifically, having a good understanding of the contracts and processes used by electricity marketplaces, power off-takers and Transmission System Operators is needed for this role.
We hope that data management is something you are enthusiastic about, and that you have some expertise in this field and see the importance in helping us continue to enhance our data flows with our stakeholders, as well as improving our business intelligence tools to ensure we optimize our performance.
You should find motivation through your involvement in achieving shared goals and be stimulated by the dynamics of working in a constantly shifting, multifaceted, and globally diverse environment. And, of course, you should share and live the IKEA culture and values!
Additionally, you will also have the following experience and skills:

    • Ability to prepare complex contracts and assess their suitability.

    • Willingness to prepare and analyze data yourself to monitor operations and to then help others set up automated processes to make this easier the next time.
    • Solid networking skills with the aptitude to build solid relationships both within and outside of the organization and understand cultural differences.
    • Advanced communication skills, including being fluent in English, with the ability to influence and make decisions.
    • A university degree in relevant studies.
