Description

The incumbent will be responsible for renewals of all GB Small Business Alpha cases and Signature cases up to 100 lives from the first renewal onwards working with Account Executives (AE), Small Business (SB) Director and Renewal Underwriters and other staff in the RGO. Supports the Account Executives in building and maintaining successful advisor relationships.
Persistency is a key to Small Business profitability. This role is designed to keep a strong focus on persistency while balancing the profitability of the group by using discretionary spending. Also, the role is designed to work closely with the AE so that the partnership results in increased persistency and advisor relationships.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of renewal processes and underwriting.
  • Good knowledge of Group Benefits products, services, pricing, and cost control.
  • Familiar with industry trends and advisor requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and assist plan advisors effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with advisors with varying degrees of maturity and product understanding.
  • Managing competing or fluctuating priorities and deliverables
Responsibilities
  • Prepares, sends, manages, and negotiates the renewals with plan advisors.
  • Prioritize and monitor renewal workload by assigned case(s) and by advisor.
  • Access various internal systems for previous renewals, claims history and other reports.
  • Adjust renewal rates upwards or downwards depending on case and advisor, apply Discretionary Spending Account (DSA)
  • Suggest plan design options.
  • Handle renewal appeals and advisor marketing appeals working with renewal Underwriter.
  • Assist advisors with selling the renewal.
  • Manage cost negotiations with advisor on renewals.
  • Follow up with advisors on renewals.
  • Track terminations and document reasons for not being able to renew.
