Higgins Hamilton have secured an exciting new contract - the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. Due to this, our team is growing, and we are seeking a Renewals Manager to join the Green Team now, ready for project kick off in July 2025.
The contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and includes maintenance of a comprehensive network of approximately 1200km of sealed and unsealed roads including rural and coastal areas.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, this is a leadership opportunity where you will be responsible for the delivery of the Pavement and Surfacing Renewals Programme and specific variation projects across the network. This role would suit an experienced Renewals Manager or Renewals Engineer ready for their next step.

Responsibilities
  • Solid background in Civil Engineering, with proven experience managing medium-sized projects
  • Prior experience scoping, planning and programming renewals work
  • A good understanding of properties of roading aggregates
  • Understanding of the technical, contractual and financial requirements involved in maintenance contracts
  • Proficiency in RAMM is essential
  • Understanding of the Construction Contracts Act and knows how to apply NZS 3910 & NZS 3917
  • Strong communication and ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Bachelor of Engineering or other relevant Tertiary qualifications desired
