SUMMARY

This Rental Account Manager is responsible for identifying rental sales opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and delivering top-tier generator and temp control solutions to commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate has a hunter mentality, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding solutions-based sales technique.

WHAT YOU NEED (REQUIREMENTS)

  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and closing high-value deals.
  • Experience working with upper management and decision makers is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and competitive mindset with a drive to exceed sales targets.
  • Professional, personable, and confident when interacting with diverse customer groups.
  • Adaptable and open to continuous learning about new products and market trends.
  • Ethical and committed to providing honest, high-quality customer service.
  • Sales and negotiation skills with the ability to confidently present, negotiate, and close deals with business owners and contractors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey product benefits and technical information.
  • Customer service skills with a proven ability to build long-term relationships and provide consultative sales solutions.
  • Prospecting and lead generation skills, including experience in cold calling, networking, and developing referral business.
  • Time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage multiple opportunities, appointments, and follow-ups.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while proactively generating leads and managing sales activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to assess customer needs and recommend the best generator solutions.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory and occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
  • In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and close rental sales by prospecting for new business (approximately 75% of your time is spent prospecting).
  • Conduct site visits and securing contracts through strong negotiation as well as presentation skills.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration across sales business lines of Service & Equipment.
  • Build and maintain client relationships by understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
  • Manage assigned sales territory by developing and executing a strategic plan, maintaining a pipeline of potential clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including service, installation, and support staff, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Be the point person for general incoming rental inquiries.
  • Work with potential and existing customers to promote and develop rental business and to rent the Company’s products - including:
  • Preparing, coordinating, and delivering timely and accurate proposals and quotations
  • Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate smooth execution of projects including planning, monitoring, logistics, installations, fueling, servicing & invoicing.
  • Coordinating, negotiating with vendors and sub-trades as required to ensure successful projects – e.g. re-rent suppliers, electrical contractors, fuel companies, ESA, etc.
  • Actively pursuing and sharing information which will benefit the Rental team - e.g. rental opportunities, names of upcoming projects, successful bidders, pricing feedback, etc.
  • Utilizing internal / external resources to assist in achieving these goals.
  • Attending site visits
  • Manage rental opportunities with the aim of achieving gross margins, utilization and revenue that exceed forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain a customer and prospect list.
  • ‘Cold Calling’ functions.
