Status: Full Time Job Purpose: The Rental Supervisor is responsible for supervising the rental staff and shop to include; staff management, scheduling, customer service and problem solving. Also will be responsible for outfitting guests with rental equipment and explaining its safe use, while also assisting with the upkeep of current inventory. Communicate regularly with other departments including lift maintenance, snowsports, tickets, ski patrol, human resources, marketing, and recreation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Honoring Commitments: Supervise rental shop employees, ensuring high-quality service and maintaining staff accountability. Interview, hire, and train seasonal personnel, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and uphold company standards. Provide regular feedback and communicate inventory audits and loss prevention strategies to management. Creating Positive Experiences: Greet guests as they enter the rental shop, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Fit guests with proper rental equipment, ensuring boots, skis, snowboards, and bindings are tailored to their skill level and needs. Work collaboratively with customer service, guest services, and snowsports departments to ensure seamless group experiences and excellent public relations. Fostering Lifelong Learning: Conduct training sessions for both new and returning employees, ensuring they understand best practices for customer service, equipment fitting, and safety protocols. Continuously develop knowledge of ski/snowboard ability levels and equipment, sharing insights with staff to enhance team expertise. Exhibiting Pioneering Spirit: Participate in weekly interdepartmental meetings, sharing innovative ideas to improve operations, enhance customer experiences, and address group volume challenges. Support the management team by contributing to financial goals, loss prevention strategies, and recommending process improvements within the rental department. Demonstrating Good Stewardship: Ensure proper inventory control, accurate accounting of equipment, and maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality. Perform pre-season and post-season equipment testing and maintenance, including waxing and tuning skis/snowboards. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, ensuring equipment is properly stored and ready for guest use. Other Duties as Assigned: Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and 18 years of age Minimum of two years of experience in the mountain bike or ski area industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational abilities, including effective planning and scheduling. Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Knowledge of ski/snowboard ability levels and expertise in safe equipment use. Skilled in the proper and safe use of rental shop equipment, tools, and products. Valid Driver’s License Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed by season and by need of the company.
