Description Identify, evaluate, develop, and support the implementation of projects to increase sales, improve processes, and reduce costs. The repair development engineer will manage and lead assigned projects to completion. Projects will vary in work scope from developing a repair from OEM Technical Data to advising leadership toward major process changes such as capability improvements by equipment procurement. Requirements Read and interpret OEM Technical Data such as Inspection Repair Manuals, Drawings, MOT/MWIs, etc. Review, advise, and write thorough Repair Routings to ensure efficiency and feasibility; Routings include each individual operation’s instructions. Effectively communicate with multiple departments as it relates to your job duties typically with technical support. Plan, manage, execute, and report on technical programs with limited supervision. Develop, substantiate, and qualify new processes, procedures, and equipment. Develop shop paperwork to allow smooth transition of project into production. Design tooling and fixtures as appropriate. Competencies Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Required Education and Experience: B.S. Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical and Engineering experience) and 5 years technical experience. Five years of experience in manufacturing and/or repair of Gas Turbine Engine components. Experienced in following aerospace specifications and processes. Experience with OEM Technical Data such as Inspection Repair Manuals, Drawings, MOT/MWIs, etc. Preferred experience with various special processes e.g., Weld, Heat Treat, Braze. (A Plus: Thermal Spray, EDM, Shot Peen, Balance/Spin, etc.) Project management skills. Proficient in MS Office and various Engineering computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Solidworks, 2D AutoCAD (limited proficiency), etc. Preferred experience with review, development, substantiation, and compliance to FAA-DER Major Repair EAs/PMAs.
