JOB OVERVIEW

The Laptop Repair Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware-related issues in laptop systems. This role involves the replacement of defective components, the installation and configuration of operating systems and software updates, and the execution of system upgrades to enhance performance. Additionally, the engineer is tasked with the cosmetic refurbishment of devices, ensuring that all equipment is restored to an “as-new” aesthetic and functional condition, in accordance with quality and performance standards.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Diagnose and repair a variety of electronic devices with precision and efficiency such as laptops and mobile phones.
  • Procurement of parts
  • Raising PO’s and ordering of parts for contracted repairs
  • Repair and rediagnosis of contracted repairs
  • Provide case by case updates for contract calls at regular intervals
  • Work alongside logistics team to ensure repairs are returned securely with any additional sundries
  • Inventory Management
  • Using and maintaining internal systems
  • Monitor repair progress with Repair houses and update service delivery team where applicable
  • Ensuring IT stock is stored for repair where applicable (Repair of Controllers, boards, PSU’s, switches & Tape Drives all must be monitored and inventory recorded)
  • Curation of triage and repair reports for incoming projects
  • Provide internal customers with accurate updates
  • Creation of documents and procedures for repair scenarios

KEY PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in electronic device repair and maintenance e.g Laptops, Tablet and Mobile Phone
  • Strong knowledge and experience of hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.
