JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE
Failure Diagnostic, Troubleshooting, and Repair/Replacement of Faulty Components in Electronic Equipment. Responsible for ensuring sufficient resources are made available to achieve of requirements of the policy, and for reviewing progress against objectives and programs. Respond to QMS.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- All employees are responsible for ensuring that quality issues and customer satisfaction arising from their own activities are managed according to customer requirements, the quality policy and DBK procedures.
- Repair and Maintenance of electronic equipment such as: Barcode Readers, Mobile Computers, POS Machines, Fusers, Printers, etc.
- Replacement of Certain Faulty Components such as: connectors, cables, fuses, etc. (Level I Technicians have limited use of soldering
equipment and are not allowed to replace critical components unless in close supervision of a Level II/III technician or a supervisor.
- Replacement of Cosmetics deemed to be worn out or unacceptable based on Peak Technologies’ quality guidelines.
- Software and Firmware update to electronic equipment.
- Maintain Cost-Effective levels through the use of good practices, judgment and utilization of time, equipment and inventory of
new/used parts.
- Minimize and decrease Repeat-Repairs.
- Record Entry for repaired devices into Peak Technologies Tech Parts Inventory System.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS
- Technical background in electro-mechanical devices such as printers, kiosk/ATM devices, or equivalent experience.
- Associate degree and/or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience in field service or similar industry
- Certification in information technology or process improvement training desired.
- Operate within division or department policy guidelines using nearly independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Escalate issues discovered while performing required tasks.
- Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand.
- Use and understanding of test/lab equipment such as Voltmeters, Power Supplies, Bench Tools, Soldering Equipment, etc
- Assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment
- Troubleshooting of electronic equipment
- Exposure to limited amounts of noise.
