Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of routine tasks such as repair, modification, calibration, troubleshooting, and testing of In-Flight Entertainment System to ensure repair shop quality standards are met.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least a Diploma or Higher Nitec/ Degree in Engineering/ Electronics Technology/ Aerospace Technology or equivalent.
  • This position requires at least 1 year of working experience in the related field.
  • Preferably, those with working experience troubleshooting electronic products.

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and other technical publications in order to facilitate troubleshooting, repair, and testing of equipment.
  • Understanding of electronic circuit design to facilitate fault isolation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to carry out tester set-up and calibration.
  • Understanding of basic airworthiness requirements.
  • Ability to operate programmable auto-testers, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures.
  • Ability to use Volt-ohm meters, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, distortion analyzers, audio and video signal generators, and semi-automatic test equipment.
  • Ability to work on complex, miniature electromechanical devices using common hand tools; knowledge of using power tools.
  • Excellent soldering techniques and understanding of soldering techniques on surface mount technology, where acrylic conformal coating is used, are required.
  • To maintain a wide variety of avionics equipment, hence, acquiring the know-how and mastering the skills and product knowledge is mandatory.
Responsibilities
  • Perform the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Perform proper repairs and/or modifications of all aircraft electronics equipment and some test equipment at board level and component level.
  • Perform hand set-ups for digital tests. Recognize failures and set-up problems and determine the need for appropriate verification. Act as a technical resource in the analysis of failures when required.
  • Position and align parts and components. Secure them in place or remove them using appropriate, various methods including soldering, crimping, fastening, gluing, etc.
  • Test and troubleshoot complex analog and digital electronics systems to the component level. In other words, able to analyses both digital and analog electronic circuits and able to set-up and operate test equipment.
  • Assess design configuration status of units under repair by referencing engineering documentation and maintenance manuals.
  • Identify and navigate to appropriate electronic engineering and maintenance documentation to conduct repair actions and to record required information on all repairs and publication discrepancies.
  • Install assemblies in cases or cabinets.
  • Generate repair cost quotation worksheets to be transmitted to the end customer.
