POSITION SUMMARY

This position specifically requires expertise in fine soldering skills for PCB manufacturing and re-work. Proven expertise in the use of soldering irons for installation or removal of micro-miniature components on PCB’s for both SMT and thru-hole components. This position focuses on troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation and supporting manufacturing. This position is based in Nashua, NH and will report to the Operations Manager.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION

  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing electrical and mechanical assemblies;
  • 5+ years’ experience in repairing scientific instrumentation;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience;
  • IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-610 certified highly preferred;
  • The individual in this position must have excellent attention to detail; ability to follow, or document processes; ability to communicate quality concerns to employees;
  • Understanding of Bill of Material structure in assembly processes;
  • Prior experience working with Class IIIb lasers a plus;
  • QA experience is a strong plus for this position;

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and follow assembly procedures for installation of SMT or Thru-hole components;
  • Expertise in the assembly of electronics products with specific experience in soldering;
  • Diagnose, disassemble, reassemble, and test electrical and mechanical systems on instrumentation;
  • Perform programming, testing, and debugging of instruments;
  • Perform inspection and test of in-process and incoming materials as assigned
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve corrective actions;
  • Work with engineering to transition new products into production, assuring that proper documentation, test fixtures, inspection requirements and equipment are in place to facilitate a smooth transition to production.
  • This position is performed in a manufacturing test environment with moderate noise level and artificial climate control. Duties require both sitting and standing for varied amounts of time;
  • All other duties as assigned;
