What You’ll Do: Be a vital part of a new team focused on reducing delays in wheelchair repairs and improving service for our community. Provide wheelchair delivery services, including lending out loaner wheelchairs while more complex repairs are being handled. Instead: Driver license is required Assist in diagnosing and performing basic wheelchair repairs to ensure our consumers maintain their independence and mobility. Qualifications As our Repair Technician, your primary Responsibilities will include: Performs scheduled service calls, making wheelchair deliveries in various environments, to include consumer homes and residential care facilities Performs simple wheelchair repairs in the home setting or in the service vehicle, as appropriate Assembles newly purchased loaner wheelchairs per factory specifications Delivers and retrieves, cleans, repairs and maintains a fleet of loaner wheelchairs Supports inventory control for loaner wheelchairs and repair parts Physical Demands: Communication on phone or computer Daily Documentation, data entry Attending trainings and meetings Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. As our Repair Technician, you must possess the following Required Skills/Abilities: Valid driver’s license, excellent driving record with no violations for past two years. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency certificate Mechanical aptitude with experience performing mechanical or electrical equipment repairs Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently, to problem solve, to multi-task Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, with kindness and empathy, by phone and in person Computer technology aptitude and experience utilizing PC and phone applications Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with people with disabilities or home-based support services Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite: e.g., Windows, Outlook, Excel Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO9000, Lean, 6 Sigma) Familiarity with HIPAA or related information security and privacy practices
