Freedom Fuels is an independent petroleum company with 40+ Fuel & Convenience sites throughout South East QLD and Northern NSW. We have a further 16 Trinity Petroleum sites in North QLD operating under the Mobil brand. We also supply fuels, lubricants and services into markets including mining, agricultural, marine, industrial and transport.
We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and hands on Repairs & Maintenance Coordinator (field based) to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance & Property Support Manager this role is responsible for effectively managing the maintenance and general upkeep of Freedom Fuels’ and Trinity Petroleum’s property networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify maintenance and repair needs through regular site inspections including car wash operations.
  • Hands on attendance to maintenance and repairs if and as required.
  • Arranging, comparing and negotiating quotes from contractors, suppliers and service providers.
  • Seeking cost effective solutions to repair and maintenance jobs, to ensure that budgets are adhered to and accepted prices are competitive.
  • Establish strong working relationships with contractors and service providers to support business needs.
  • Building effective and proactive relationships with Area and site managers to enable quality communication and speedy resolutions to site issues.
  • Organise, supervise, and direct works undertaken by contractors and service providers.
  • Regular travel to inspect site and perform required maintenance activities.
  • Administration activities including maintaining of electronic job records (HelpDesk), regular reporting and management of purchase orders.
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Contribute to Emergency Management Team as required.

About You

  • 5 years experience in a similar role (multi-site), maintenance and/or general repairs
  • Electrical or other trade qualification (highly desirable).
  • QLD & NSW regulatory and Code building maintenance knowledge including but not limited to fire safety, electrical safety, accessibility requirements, environmental regulations, construction.
  • Ability to undertake regular travel to undertake site inspections and site works including away from home (approx. 1 week in 4).
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
  • Available on call to support a 24/7 operations. Flexible arrangements.
  • WPCG Work Clearance Issuer (or ability to obtain)
  • Work Permit Issuer (or ability to obtain)
  • Gas Monitoring Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work autonomously.
