QUALIFICATIONS:

HNC Building studies or equivalent, or be working toward that qualification or have extensive equivalent experience

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience supervising maintenance/repairs teams in a housing, property, or construction environment
  • Strong knowledge of building trades, including health and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literate and comfortable using job management or scheduling software
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
Responsibilities

WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH THIS ROLE:

As a Repairs Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of trade staff and subcontractors, ensuring that all works—whether responsive repairs, void refurbishments, or planned maintenance—are delivered safely, on time, to standard, and within budget.
You’ll work closely with planners, surveyors, tenants, and other stakeholders to coordinate repairs effectively and to a high standard of customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise a team of operatives and/or subcontractors carrying out repairs, maintenance, and void property works
  • Monitor performance, quality, and productivity, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and service level agreements
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections of works and ensure accurate job completion records
  • Liaise with tenants, customer services, and housing management teams to resolve complaints or service issues promptly
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operatives and assist with training and development where required
  • Assist with stock control, ordering materials, and managing van stock
  • Ensure accurate reporting and updates using scheduling and repairs management systems (e.g., Northgate, DRS, or similar)
