ABOUT US
Housing Solutions is a not for profit Housing Association, rooted in the local community providing quality, affordable homes to rent and buy across the local area. Our mission is to make our residents proud of w they live and our colleagues proud of w they work. Our services are driven by our strategic goals of safe, satisfied and sustainable, underpinned by our company values of ownership, innovation, teamwork and inclusion.
Established in 1995 we provide quality, affordable homes to rent and buy across the South East of England. We are rooted in the local community and we offer a wide range of housing services and housing options, including affordable homes to rent, properties to buy under shared ownership; market rent properties, and specialist accommodation for older people and people who need care and support to live within the community.
Housing Solutions are seeking a Repairs Surveyor to join our Asset Management Team. Our repairs service to over 7,500 homes is delivered by our in-house repairs team together with specialist external contractors.
The role included dealing with damp and mould problems and with general repair problems.
Dealing with mould includes diagnosis, raising orders for remedial work with our in-house repairs team or with a contractor, and post-inspection. You will also need to give advice to the customer on how to avoid mould recurring.
General repair problems include complex repairs, resident alterations, and hazards discovered through a stock condition survey. You will prepare specifications and orders for our in-house repairs team or an external contractor to undertake the repair. You need to be able to specify work using measurements and schedule of rates as appropriate. For larger works, you will need to obtain competitive quotes or tenders.
You will also be responsible for supporting our response to disrepair claims, environmental health enquiries, insurance repairs, and defects in newbuild schemes.
You will be working in the Repairs Team, which includes the DLO, and is part of our Asset Management Directorate. Your work will combine site and desk work and you will work from home and our Maidenhead office. We make extensive use of IT and run a paperless office. Most of our homes are in or near Maidenhead and we expect you to live within 45 minutes of Maidenhead and to use your own car to undertake site visits. Parking is available at our office, including electric car charging facilities. At present we support hybrid working patterns with staff attending our office at least once a week.
