SUMMARY:

The Repatriation Benefits Coordinator plays a critical supporting role within the PMO, working under the guidance of the Senior Repatriation Benefits Coordinator to help returnees access essential life support services. This position ensures that returnees who were wrongfully detained overseas are enrolled in health and mental health services upon their return, and connected with financial and social support resources, and guided through their reintegration journey. While many responsibilities overlap with the Senior position, the Benefits Coordinator primarily focuses on administrative coordination, routine casework, and direct service execution. The role demands a high degree of empathy, attention to detail, and 24/7/365 operational responsiveness.

EDUCATION

  • Associates degree or 3-5 years’ experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • US Citizen and reside in the US
  • Eligible for a Secret Clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work an alternative schedule to ensure 24/7/365 operations.
  • Able to travel worldwide, as needed.
  • Office computers and equipment, telephones, radios, Microsoft Office suite of tools, Web Based Applications, electronic spreadsheets and database analysis, outputs, and reporting, virtual data sharing platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and other forms of remote work-sharing tools.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and work at a computer for long periods of time. Ability up to lift 25lbs on occasion, stretching, climbing stairs, and walking

Responsibilities
  • Ability and heart to work with vulnerable populations, victims of trauma, or individuals in crisis.
  • Supports benefit-related coordination.
  • Assist returnees with access to benefits such as health and mental health services, financial aid, legal, and related support services and reintegration resources.
  • Complete intake forms, process enrollment documents, and monitor service delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date case files using secure systems aligned with the Program Analyst’s data tracking.
  • Support communication and coordination between returnees, families, and service providers.
  • Escalate complex issues or family crises to the Senior Benefits Coordinator or Program Director.
  • Help prepare status updates, report summaries, and metrics to support SOW deliverables.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and provide culturally aware, trauma-informed customer service.
  • Serve as part of the 24/7/365 on-call team for urgent returnee needs, especially during post-arrival transitions.
  • Maintains accurate case records and contributes to Program Analyst reporting requirements.
  • Liaises with service providers, agencies, and partners to confirm service delivery.
  • Provides empathetic, culturally appropriate guidance to returnees and families.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation to respond to urgent or after-hours benefit needs.
  • Helps ensure continuity of services during surge periods or staff absences.
