Job Description The Representative, Terminal Operations plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of terminal operations at MSC’s Canadian ports. As the primary liaison between MSC and terminal operators, this role oversees daily port activities, fosters strong working relationships with terminal partners, and ensures accurate scheduling and reporting. This position is vital for enhancing operational effectiveness, maintaining schedule integrity, and delivering reliable service across all port operations. Level of Responsibility: Increased handling tasks with greater independence; Responsible for quality and timeliness of personal work. Contributing to projects with guidance, supporting team/organizational objectives. Qualifications Key Tasks: Serve as the primary liaison between MSC Agency and terminal operators, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Collaborate closely with other internal stakeholders to support and achieve overall departmental objectives. Continuously monitor container movements at the terminals to ensure the timely and orderly evacuation of all units. Maintain financial awareness of operations by proactively identifying cost impacts and proposing solutions. Focus on cost-efficiency to support MSC’s profitability. Create and manage vessel sailing schedules, including ERD and cut-off times at terminals. Communicate changes to the vessel schedule, including any omissions and adjustments, to all relevant stakeholders. Create and maintain accurate and timely reports on terminal operations metrics and KPIs. Review, verify, and approve invoices related to port, terminal, and vessel activities. Submit required documentation, such as ACI and A6 reports, to the CBSA. Manage WCMRC contracts, ensuring that all vessels have valid coverage prior to arrival. Submit Out of Gauge (OOG) and Break Bulk handling requests to terminals, providing complete and accurate cargo specifications and stowage instructions. Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiency. Skills / Experience: All MSC Canada employees are expected to exhibit the MSC Values, striving to drive customer centric results in all interactions with colleagues and customers alike. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingualism (French/English) is an asset Bachelor’s degree in a related field Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment Strong initiative, critical thinking, and a proactive problem-solving mindset Experience in port or terminal operations is preferred High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Power BI is considered an asset Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiation and issue resolution Additional Information Why Join MSC Canada?
