Description
Collect, clean, and validate engineering-related data from multiple sources including sensors, ERP systems, CAD software, and project management tools. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python-based visualization libraries to track key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time. Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast equipment performance, maintenance needs, and production outcomes. Collaborate with engineering teams to define data requirements, improve data collection processes, and ensure data integrity across systems. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-backed solutions to improve design, manufacturing, and testing processes. Automate repetitive data tasks using SQL, Python, or R to increase reporting efficiency and reduce manual errors. Support root cause analysis for engineering failures or performance deviations by analyzing historical and real-time data. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights. Stay updated with emerging data analytics trends and technologies relevant to the engineering sector. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field), Computer Science, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline. 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets; experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL). Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Hands-on experience with Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation. Familiarity with Excel at an advanced level, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA. Understanding of engineering data types (e.g., sensor data, CAD outputs, test results) and data lifecycle management. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Pune.
