Description

Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers for raw materials used in pharmaceutical production. Negotiate favorable pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply continuity. Monitor market trends, raw material availability, and pricing fluctuations to proactively mitigate supply chain risks. Ensure all raw materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements (GMP, FDA, ISO, etc.) through thorough documentation and supplier audits. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance metrics. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, R&D, and Production teams to align procurement activities with product development and manufacturing timelines. Manage supplier performance through regular evaluations, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and submit procurement reports, forecasts, and budget analyses to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and ethical sourcing practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Strong understanding of GMP, FDA, and ISO standards applicable to pharmaceutical raw materials. Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and MS Office Suite. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and quality. Willingness to travel locally and occasionally to supplier facilities for audits or assessments.
