Summary: The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) role in Saudi Arabia is a critical position responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant use of radiation sources and equipment across operational sites. Reporting to management and collaborating with regulatory bodies such as the National Radioactive Waste Regulatory Commission (NRRC), the RSO safeguards personnel, the environment, and operations by enforcing radiation protection standards and company safety protocols. This role is essential for maintaining a culture of safety in high-risk industrial environments and supporting the successful execution of projects involving radioactive materials. The ideal candidate will be a licensed, experienced professional committed to upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: Monitor daily radiation safety activities at project and operational sites. Ensure compliance with NRRC regulations and company safety procedures. Supervise the safe handling, storage, and transportation of radioactive sources and related equipment. Conduct radiation risk assessments and recommend appropriate safety measures. Monitor employee radiation exposure levels and ensure adherence to approved safety limits. Inspect and verify the calibration and functionality of radiation monitoring devices. Maintain accurate records, reports, inspection logs, and radiation safety documentation. Deliver safety training and awareness programs for employees and site personnel. Investigate radiation incidents or unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions. Coordinate with clients, inspectors, and regulatory authorities during audits and site inspections. Support the company’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) objectives across all projects. Requirements Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Health Physics, Engineering, or a related field. Valid Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) License issued by NRRC. Proven experience in radiation safety, industrial radiography, or handling radioactive sources. In-depth knowledge of radiation safety regulations and standards in Saudi Arabia. Hands-on experience with radiation monitoring instruments and measurement equipment. Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple project sites. Transferable Iqama is required. Willingness to travel and work at various project locations as needed. Good English communication skills are an added advantage. Immediate joining is preferred.
