This study aims to explore whether financial incentives can improve medication adherence among individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and/or bipolar disorder, along with alcohol or opioid use disorders. Specifically, we are focusing on individuals who have recently experienced involuntary hospitalization or are at high risk of one in the near future. The goal is to determine whether offering financial incentives can help prevent future mental health crises and reduce the likelihood of involuntary hospitalizations by supporting consistent medication use in this vulnerable population.
The Research Project Coordinator WPIC will be responsible for supporting and coordinating activities related to the research project. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of research methodologies and a strong interest in the treatment and management of psychosis and/or substance use disorders. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage research protocol tasks with precision, and maintain strong attention to detail. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with teams at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, Pittsburgh Mercy outpatient clinic, and the CTT program units, and will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI). Travel between project sites is required.
