ABOUT US
We are looking for a postdoctoral research assistant to work on a project detecting and analysing the relevance of plasma biomarkers in a novel mouse model of Alzheimer’s Disease. The successful individual will become an active member of the research group with 3 PhD students and a range of MSc and undergraduate research students and assist in running the lab and in executing the research programme in order to meet the overall objectives of the project. The post is available until the 14th January 2026, in the first instance.

The successful candidate must have experience with handling mice and managing a mouse colony. It is essential that the candidate has experience taking blood samples from mice and is able to be exposed to live mice for extended periods of time while undertaking this task. Substantial experience in analysing brain pathology using immunohistochemistry and other molecular techniques is required. The post holder will be adaptable, quick to assimilate information and establish their own support networks across UCL. An excellent eye for details, organisational skills, the ability to communicate effectively are required. Practical experience in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and the ability to perform physically demanding routine practical tasks to a consistently high standard is also essential. Experience and willingness in assisting the supervision of students also be essential.
