Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Business Partner Lead, the staff will provide pre- and post- award research grant administration support to researchers in assigned units.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support researchers in proposal preparation and submission.
- Conduct checks to ensure compliance with grant application and submission guidelines.
- Coordinate the collation of internal assessments and approvals for various grant-related requests.
- Work with the contracts office to initiate the development of agreements.
- Assist with post-award management matters (e.g. account creation, project changes, ensure required ethics approval/certificates are obtained, monitor report deadlines and submissions, etc.)
- Work with relevant offices to track manpower hired under projects for reports to fund agencies.
- Monitor research team eligibility and initiate preparation of mitigation plan/request for replacements in team members.
- Manage overspending/overcommitment of budget, clear outstanding commitment for completed projects.
- Generate monthly stakeholder reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree with at least 2 years of working experience
- Prior experience in grant or research administration would be advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to relate well with people at all levels and good service orientation.
- Self-starter with good organisational and administrative skills and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently, or in a team, with self-awareness in meeting deadlines
- Good command of written and spoken English language.
