Description

Applications are invited for a NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal BRC Research Administrator post.
Appointment will start immediately for 12 months in the first instance. During this time, successful applicant will provide administrative assistance on various research studies within the BRC, under the supervision of a Study Coordinator.
Rheumatic Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMDs) such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis affect >18 million people in the UK, account for 1 in 5 of GP consultations and have poorer outcomes in lower socioeconomic and minority populations. Inflammatory RMDs are associated with multi-morbidity, premature mortality and have treatment non-response rates >30%. Osteoarthritis (OA) and chronic back pain lack effective disease modifying interventions, yet account for more working-age disability than any other disease. The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research (a European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology Centre of Excellence) hosts two Versus Arthritis Centres of Excellence (Genetics & Genomics; Epidemiology) and the RMD arm of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (MBRC).This post is funded by the MBRC to assist coordination of studies investigating prevention and better treatments for RMDs.
The role will involve supporting existing and new studies including data management, ethical applications/amendments, quality control, reporting and document management to Research Governance standards.
We welcome applications from suitable high calibre candidates with eligibility details provided in the online job description and person specification.
