The Greek leading Biscuits & Bakery company Ε.J. PAPADOPOULOS S.A. is seeking to employ a talented, driven & committed: Research & Development Sensory Technologist to join the R&D team in Athens The role: The candidate will be part of the R&D Sensory team, reporting to R&D Sensory & Pilot Manager, participating in all the activities related to sensory tests, panel management, data analysis, and presentation of sensory results that help to guide R&D project teams and other internal collaborators. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute sensory evaluation studies Prepare samples according to standardized protocols Coordinate and support sensory panels during testing sessions Perform statistical analysis using statistical software Generate concise, informative reports and/or verbally present complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain sensory lab organization, materials and documentation. Develop and optimize sensory testing methodologies and protocols Train and manage sensory panels Product development and sample preparation for panel training Collaborate cross- functionally with R&D, Marketing, and Quality teams Staying current with literature and information about sensory evaluation Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in sensory science Qualifications: Preferably 1-4 years of experience, in sensory evaluation preferably in a food company Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field Master’s degree in Sensory Science or a related discipline (preferred) Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Sensory and Consumer testing methodologies including descriptive analysis- panel moderating- discrimination testing- consumer research- questionnaire design- data analysis and interpretation. Developed soft skills required for effective data, analysis, presentation and business influence based on results Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g. XLSTAT) Fluent in English Time management and organizational skills Able to multitask- work alone and in a team Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Self-discipline, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines High degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity
Responsibilities
The Sensory Technologist will design and execute sensory evaluation studies while managing sensory panels and performing statistical data analysis. They will also collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, and Quality teams to provide actionable insights for product development.
